With the prospect of a new millennium has come a transformative vision.   The United Nation has declared the Year 2000 as The International year for the Culture of Peace and the first decade of the 21st century as The Decade for the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World.

Canadian Voice of Women of Peace believe that the culture of peace is an idea whose time has come, and that it's both necessary and possible to transform our current culture of violence.  This workshop kit has been designed to provide a framework for people to explore, in an active, participatory way such things as:

• The dimensions of a culture of peace and where the notion is coming from
• Our present culture of violence
• What is helping to create a culture of peace and what is hindering it
• Whether men and women ahve different approaches to creating peace
• How individuals and groups can be peace promoters in all aspects of their lives
