  •  Tentative date October, 2009 – ANNUAL ALBERTA PEACE EDUCATION CONFERENCE - Location Calgary , Alberta , Canada .  We will be featuring a two day Open Space Technology Conference to "brainstorm" the theme "Bringing Peace to Schools" and the advancement of an Alberta Culture of Peace Program, Alberta Peace Education Strategy and Community Centres for Teaching Peace/Peace Cafes.   For more information and/or to participate in the planning, contact Bob Stewart stewartr[at]peace.ca 

     

  • November 11, 2009 - Eighth Annual Canadian Peace Awards.  In celebration of Peace Champions in Canada and the United Nations International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the World, the Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace will be hosting the Fourth Annual Canadian Peace Awards, November 11, 2008.  Awards will be presented in 10 major categories for Canadian achievements in building a Culture of Peace and Non-violence, at home and abroad.  The presentations will also culminate in the fourth induction into the Canadian Peace Hall of Fame housed at the Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace and on its web site at http://www.peace.ca .  For more information, and to submit nominations, contact Bob Stewart at stewartr[at]peace.ca and see http://www.peace.ca/peaceawards.htm  

  •  November 9 - 16, 2009 - Eighth Annual Conference on Peace Education in Canada: in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.  Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace and the McMaster Centre for Peace Studies are hosting the Eighth Annual Conference on Peace Education in Canada from November 9th through 16th, 2009 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
