Facilities are limited to 350 participants, so please book early. Since space at the Conference is limited, registration must be on a first-come, first-served basis. Only registered participants may attend sessions. Registration fees include access to all sessions, four refreshment breaks, and two luncheons. No registrations will be processed without payment.
Participants should make their own hotel arrangements and pay the hotel directly. An html file is attached at http://www.peace.ca/HamiltonAccommodations.htm (ask for the McMaster University rate if applicable). We are not recommending any one hotel or accommodation in particular, and we are not responsible for them. To help mitigate costs of accommodation, we are trying to organize some home boarding. Please indicate here your request for home boarding and for what dates:
Transportation to and from Hamilton, Ontario is the responsibility of the registrant. The closest airports are Hamilton airport (at Mount Hope) and Pearson International, on the north-west outskirts of Toronto. NEED A SPECIAL RATE FOR TRANSPORTATION FROM/TO PEARSON AIRPORT? - SEE ATTACHED.

Cheques must be made payable to Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace. Payment must be in Canadian dollars. The early registration price prior to October 31 is $200.00, after which the registration price will be $250.00. Cancellations are allowed up to November 10 with a 15% cancellation fee. Though refunds are not possible for cancellations after November 10, registrants unable to attend can assign their participation to someone else.

We are very pleased to announce that all Registrants at our Conference will get a copy of the highly recommended book "The Human Right to Peace" by Canadian Senator Douglas Roche as part of the Registration Package. This is a $24.95 value, and 'must reading' for all peace educators. Note - 50 places will be reserved for students at a reduced registration fee of $50.00 CDN (To October 31 $25.00 CDN); and 50 places will be reserved for seniors at a reduced registration fee of $75.00 CDN (To October 31 $50.00 CDN). Students and seniors who wish to have a copy of the book may purchase them at the Conference for the discounted rate of $10.00CDN.
B. OPTIONAL PRE- AND POST-CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES:

elders look back toward the young and help them find a future that the elders do
not see." - Parker Palmer
This is in celebration of the International Day for Children (which is November
20). We will
have a full day workshop dedicated to "A World Fit For
Children": designed and led by area youth, the workshop
will explore what youth can do to help build a Culture of Peace and
Non-violence. There will be lots of time for dialogue among young

Student Union Centre, 3rd Floor, CIBC Banquet Hall] - An evening social 'mixer' and celebration of "A World Fit For
Children". Entertainment: TBA
Friday, November 19 - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm [Location: Student Union Centre, 3rd Floor, CIBC Banquet Hall] - "Mobilizing Peace Education Resources". A full day workshop to look at best case examples of classroom (K-12 and University) resources for peace education currently available and what we need to do to help peace educators attain them. See background information below for suggestions. We will have presenters from Classroom Connections, Canada's Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities, and more to come (let us know if you have peace education resources available). At the end of the workshop, we would like to have a clear picture of what education resources are available in Canada, and what we need to obtain. Workshop Leaders David Adams (past director of UNESCO/UN International Year for the Culture of Peace and professor of Psychology (bio) http://www.culture-of-peace.info ); and Dr. Larry Fisk (professor in Peace Studies and past President of the Canadian Peace Research and Education Association) (bio). Workshop fee $100.00 CDN ($50.00 CDN to October 31; registration fees are waived for students under the age of 25).
To further develop the Action Plan for Peace Education in Canada, we will hold a National Culture of Peace Program/Canadian Peace Initiative Symposium (of which peace education will be a central part) Sunday, November 21 to Tuesday, November 23, 2003; see the separate agenda at http://www.peace.ca/nationalcultureofpeace2004.htm ). Those peace educators who are able to stay on are invited to do so.
C. TRADE FAIR BOOTH FEES: $100.00(CDN). Includes a 4 x 6 foot table and 2 chairs.
NOTE: Registrants who wish to pay by credit card can print the ATTACHED form ( http://www.peace.ca/registrationformPEC.htm ) and fax to Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace at (403) 938-4117. Registrants paying by credit card will be charged in Canadian dollars. VISA or Mastercard will convert to the registrant’s home currency. Credit card information should not be sent via e-mail.

Our conferences are designed to cover our costs. Any surplus is provided to the Canadian Peace Education Foundation.
