 HONOLULU PEACE DECLARATION – PeacePlus
 
Salutations and greetings from District 9700, particularly District Governor Ed Chenery and the District 9700 Peace Committee, representing Rotary District Peace Communities world-wide.

  Firstly, congratulations to you and to Vice Dean of Ambassadors Motonobu Nishimura, Special Ambassador Gene H Grounds and newly  appointed Special Ambassador of the Rotary District Peace Communities Program, Governor of Hawaii, Ben Cayetano, for establishing the Honolulu Peace Declaration – PeacePlus. 

 Your initiative and leadership in seeking Rotary International to adopt PeacePlus as a catalyst for the promotion of world peace is acknowledged. Under Rotary International support, PeacePlus would bestow an endowment of  global Peace education on the children of the World.  Additionally, the Honolulu Peace Declaration calls for Rotary International to support the United Nation’s Program for a Culture of Peace and also, the Hague Appeal for Global Peace.

 The District 9700 Peace Committee is pleased to support the Honolulu Peace Declaration through the Rotary District  Peace Communities Program. Our strong endorsement of the Honolulu Peace Declaration initiative is detailed in the accompanying statement from this committee, that is provided on behalf of all Rotary District Peace Communities world-wide, that are represented by us. We look forward to embracing the strategies underpinning PeacePlus to enhance the effectiveness Rotary District Peace Communities in meeting the challenge of furthering peace, international friendship, goodwill and understanding.
