Joan Engel is currently the Team Leader in the Curriculum Branch, Alberta Learning.  She has been involved in education for over twenty-five years as a teacher, administrator, author, consultant and curriculum developer.  She has been internationally recognized for her work in the area of ethical education and has worked on several national and international projects. She has completed course work on a doctorate program in education.
